The Dutch Grand Prix has started in the best possible way for the Power Electronics Aspar Team and Jordi Torres. The Spanish rider finished third in the MotoE qualifying and will start from the front row of the grid tomorrow for the first time this season. His teammate Kevin Zannoni will start from the third row after setting the ninth fastest time. Italian Mattia Casadei took pole position on a day marked by constantly changing track conditions, and his compatriot Andrea Mantovani was the second fastest in MotoE, just a few thousandths ahead of Torres.

The Power Electronics Aspar Team faced a challenging day at the TT Circuit Assen due to constantly changing track conditions. After a wet free practice session, in which Jordi Torres was the fastest rider and Kevin Zannoni was fifth, the practice session that decided who would go directly to Q2 took place in dry conditions. In addition, the wind was also a determining factor when riding on the legendary Dutch track. Torres showed great pace, considerably improving his times. However, the Spanish rider suffered a heavy crash while trying to set a time under 1:40. Despite this, Torres finished fastest again and secured direct passage to Q2. Kevin Zannoni, on the other hand, did not have the same feeling as his teammate and finished in tenth position, although outside the Q2 places.

In Q1, the Italian rider gave his all to secure one of the two places that guaranteed a pass to Q2. The Power Electronics Aspar Team rider completed a great final lap to take first place. In Q2, Jordi Torres was able to complete the timed practice thanks to the great work of his team in repairing the bike after the crash in the morning. The Power Electronics Aspar Team rider went from strength to strength and maintained a great pace that allowed him to secure a spot on the front row of the grid. His 1:40.101, one tenth off pole position, will give him a good starting position in the two races to be held on Saturday. At the same time, Kevin Zannoni did not achieve the desired result in Q2. The Italian was unable to improve on his Q1 time and will start from the third row tomorrow, in ninth position, after setting a time of 1:40.611.

3rd Jordi Torres 1:40:101 (+0.158): “I started this morning's free practice feeling very comfortable and we managed to be the fastest in the session. In the second session of the day, in dry conditions, I improved my times and rode very fast, although I also wanted to save the tyres. I tried to ride below 1:40, but when I was improving my time I made a mistake and suffered a heavy crash. The team did a great job to repair the bike in the little time they had, getting the bike back to perfect condition was a real feat on their part. I can only thank them for their efforts. In qualifying, I went from less to more, although perhaps I needed to be a little more aggressive because I didn't want to crash again. This afternoon we will finish getting everything ready for tomorrow's two races. I'm sure they will be very close, as always. What is clear is that, whether it's wet or dry, we are ready to give our best."

9th Kevin Zannoni 1:40.611 (+0.668): “It was a bit of a difficult day, although we started well in wet conditions. That's important for me because I always struggle a bit more in these conditions. I didn't feel entirely comfortable in Q1, although the conditions improved and we managed to get through to Q2 with the best time. In Q2, I wasn't able to do many good laps, so tomorrow we'll have to make a good start to recover from ninth position. The goal is to quickly make up positions so we can fight for the podium again.”
