The CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team works hard to prepare the Qatar GP race

Dennis Foggia will start from the fifth row and will be forced to come back tomorrow. Joel Esteban will start from the seventh row

The CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team riders faced an intense Saturday at the Lusail International Circuit. Dennis Foggia did not have the same feeling as the previous day and finished thirteenth, while on the other side of the garage Joel Esteban was very consistent despite not having much time to adapt to Qatar. The Italian CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team rider was one of the fastest riders in Friday's sessions and made it through to Q2 in the small class. Today, however, he struggled to ride comfortably, which was reflected in the final result. In the afternoon qualifying the CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team rider improved his lap time from the first session, although his 2:03.989 only allowed him to finish 13th, more than a second off Ryusei Yamanaka's pole position. Joel Kelso and José Antonio Rueda will complete the front row.

Joel Esteban arrived in Qatar last night as a replacement for the injured Máximo Quiles and today he took to the track eager to give his best. Less than 24 hours after his arrival, the CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team rider completed a positive free practice in which he adapted quickly and was close to the top 10. Esteban had to go through Q1 and took advantage of his good feeling to fight for a place in Q2 despite having less experience than his rivals. The Spanish rider was less than a tenth of a second off the pace and will start tomorrow's race from 21st position on the grid, looking forward to continue scoring points in the standings.

12+1 Dennis Foggia 2:03.989: “After yesterday's crash I didn’t have the same feeling, we have a vibration that is preventing us from riding in the same way. Yesterday we were in the top five and now we are far away. We'll keep working this afternoon to find a solution and come back to fight and give our best in the race.”

21st Joel Esteban 2:04.549: “It wasn't an easy day because everyone had an extra day of work. The feeling from the first run was good. In the end we were able to do a good run on a used tyre, we finished twelfth and that's pretty good. Q1 wasn't easy, I didn't plan my lap well, but I have a good feeling for the race. I think tomorrow everyone will be fast, there are strong riders but I know it's only difficult for me because I've only had a few laps. I think we can follow them without too many difficulties, so tomorrow the objective is to make a good start and fight to stay ahead. Whatever result we get will be good.”
