The CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team reaches this weekend at Sachsenring the halfway point of the Moto3 season in top form
The German Grand Prix will be the next challenge for Máximo Quiles and Dennis Foggia. The CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team riders completed a very positive Dutch Grand Prix, which was only marred by Máximo Quiles' crash while fighting for victory at Assen. Dennis Foggia, meanwhile, finished eighth after receiving a penalty, although he crossed the finish line in sixth place and fought for the top 5 on a very difficult circuit. Now, Sachsenring will mark the halfway point of an intense season for both riders, who have taken the definitive step to remain at the front of the pack in the last double-header. The Moto3 rookie continues to grow and show increasing maturity on the track, especially when it comes to interpreting the key moments of the race. Teammate Dennis Foggia has found the key to feeling comfortable riding, which has been reflected in the results of the last two races, both finished in the top 10, including a podium in Italy. The Sachsenring circuit will be one of the most demanding tracks of the calendar, both for its technical difficulty and for the weather conditions, but both the Spaniard and the Italian are well prepared for the eleventh round of the calendar.
José Antonio Rueda scored his sixth victory at Assen and strengthened his lead in the standings after increasing his advantage over the runner-up by thirteen points. Indeed, after the Assen race, the second-place finisher changed for the first time since the Spanish Grand Prix. Ángel Piqueras could only manage fifth in the final race, just behind Álvaro Carpe, who thus moved up to second. Joel Kelso occupies fourth place, while CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team rider Máximo Quiles remains in fifth place with 86 points. His teammate Dennis Foggia is twelfth, just four points off the top 10.
Máximo Quiles: “In 2022, while taking part in the Rookies Cup, I competed in Germany, so I have the advantage of already knowing the circuit. It's a very small and demanding track. Now that I have more pace and I am stronger, I will be able to do better and fight for the podium again and, why not, for the victory.”
Dennis Foggia: “Sachsenring is a circuit that I really like and where I have been on the podium twice in my last years in Moto3. I think we are in good shape and can fight for the podium again. This double race week will be important to tackle the second half of the season in the best possible way.”
