CFMOTO Valresa Aspar Team on the hunt for bigger goals at Mugello

Máximo Quiles and Dennis Foggia will compete in Italy after a weekend full of progress in Aragón

The ninth round of the season will be a very exciting challenge for the CFMOTO Valresa Aspar Team riders. The Italian Grand Prix comes at a very sweet moment for Máximo Quiles, who fought for victory right to the finish line at the Aragon Grand Prix, where he earned his second consecutive podium with a second-place finish. The Spanish rider has quickly climbed several positions in the overall standings and is showing great performance despite being the least experienced rider in the category. Quiles, who has only competed in four races, is already eighth, with 60 points to his name, and has halved his gap to second in the World Championship in just three races: from entering the French race 76 points behind Ángel Piqueras, to arriving in Italy 37 points behind the Valencian. Furthermore, he has closed the gap in the fight to become the Moto3 rookie of the season, a position currently occupied by Álvaro Carpe, and is now just one victory away from his fellow countryman. The CFMOTO Valresa Aspar Team rider is ready to continue making progress in the world championship and gaining experience on a circuit where he won Red Bull Rookies Cup races in 2022, 2023, and 2024.

His teammate Dennis Foggia didn't finish the race in MotorLand as expected. The Italian rider finished fifteenth, a result that didn't reflect the work he had put in over the weekend, as he had a very good feeling on the Moto3 despite the high temperatures. Foggia will compete in its home Grand Prix this weekend, a Grand Prix where he shined in 2021, taking victory in front of the home crowd. This will provide added motivation for the Italian to fight for the front positions again. The CFMOTO Valresa Aspar Team rider remains in thirteenth place in the standings with 33 points. José Antonio Rueda remains the Moto3 leader despite only managing to end in eighth place in Aragon. Ángel Piqueras finished sixth in the race and was able to narrow the gap slightly in the standings, where he holds second place with 97 points. Australian Joel Kelso completes the top three with 86 points.

Máximo Quiles: “I'm really looking forward to the weekend in Mugello. I don't want to set any goals yet; I want to see how I feel on Friday and in qualifying. Depending on how we feel, I'll set goals, although for sure I want to be in the front group for the race, which I think would be a good goal. After these four races, I've already found my pace in the world championship. I'm super excited; I feel better, we've taken a step forward, and I think we can do well after two consecutive podiums. Above all, I want to continue having fun, because that's what I've been doing up until now.”

Dennis Foggia: “This weekend we're coming to a circuit I really like and where I've previously won. After a difficult race in Aragon, I want to keep fighting and take another step forward. It's my home Grand Prix, so I'm sure the fans will give me extra motivation.”
