CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar starts 2026 aiming for the Moto3 title

Máximo Quiles and Marco Morelli will start 2026 in uncharted territory for both of them

After a long winter break, the CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team will finally kick off the 2026 season with the Moto3 title as their goal. Máximo Quiles and Marco Morelli are travelling to Thailand this week to start an exciting year for both of them. After fighting for the runner-up spot until the last race in 2025, Quiles starts the season as one of the favourites in Moto3, especially after completing positive pre-season tests, in which the Spaniard was the fastest in the category. Alongside him, Scott Ogden and Adrián Fernández completed the top three, although riders such as Guido Pini, Matteo Bertelle, David Muñoz, Álvaro Carpe and Valentín Perrone, among others, should not be overlooked.

The CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team has 22 races ahead of it and the first big challenge comes in Thailand, an unknown venue for both riders. Quiles missed the opening round last year as he was not yet old enough to compete. Marco Morelli, on the other hand, is facing his first full year as a world championship rider, although he already has extensive experience having competed in the last races of 2025 as a substitute rider. The Spanish-Argentinian has done a great job alongside the team to adapt to the new bike and the feelings during the preseason have been very positive. The 2025 JuniorGP runner-up was just a few thousandths off the top 10 in the Jerez test, but he still has plenty of room for improvement and will draw on all the knowledge he has acquired to tackle his first year with the CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team with the best possible prospects.

Máximo Quiles: “I'm very excited to compete in the first race of the season. Last year I couldn't start in Thailand, but this time I'll be able to be in the group photo at the beginning of the year. The tests have gone very well and we want to start the season on the right foot. My first goal will be to learn the circuit, as it's new to me. From there, we'll take it step by step and adapt according to the circumstances. On Sunday, I will have to give it my all in the race. I want to get a good result and try to score a lot of points from the first race. It's going to be a long year, so we will have to stay focused.”

Marco Morelli: “There are only a few days left until the start of the season. I am really looking forward to the Thai Grand Prix. It is a new circuit for me, but it will be the first real test with the team. We did a good job in testing and I'm adapting well to the bike. The objectives are clear: to always try to improve. Obviously, I'm a competitive rider, and so is the team, so we want to be fighting at the front. You have to take into account that these are my first races and I don't know the circuits. But I'm very excited, we're well prepared and I think we can do well.”
