Jake Dixon has finished in thirteenth position and is provisionally qualified for Q2
After a three-week break, Moto2 starts again and it has done so with Fermín Aldeguer going strong. The Spanish rider has been the fastest on the first day of practice at Dutch GP, achieving a time of 1:35.912. With this time, Aldeguer has managed to improve the previous lap record, held by Ai Ogura since 2023, by 88 thousandths. It has been Ogura who has finished just behind Aldeguer. The Japanese had led the morning session and in the afternoon he has ended only 72 thousandths off the best time. This second practice session has been marked by crashes. First it has been Filip Salac who has lost control of his bike and has crashed, in a crash that has caused a red flag. Minutes after resuming, the second classified of the World Championship, Joe Roberts, also has suffered a crash in which he has broken his right collarbone. The American has finished third, while his biggest rival and World Championship leader, Sergio García, has ended fourth.
CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider Jake Dixon has finished in thirteenth position on the first day in Assen. The British had been sixth in the first practice, but in the afternoon, he has barely been able to improve his time. Dixon has ended less than a second off Aldeguer's best time and is in provisional Q2 positions. The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider wants to take a step forward that will allow him to fight for the front positions on a track where he shined last year. His teammate Izan Guevara has been twenty-third. The Spanish rider has not felt comfortable in Assen and has worked to recover the good feelings of the last races. The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider has got three tenths closer to the fastest riders from the first to the last session, and tomorrow he aims to fight to advance to Q2.
12+1 Jake Dixon 1:36.773 (+0.861): “It is good to be back after this break. In general, it has not gone bad, but we need to improve. We have work ahead of us, but I'm going to sleep with a smile because I am back to riding and doing what I like.”
23rd Izan Guevara 1:37.330 (+1.418): “The first day in Assen has been complicated. I have focused on feeling comfortable on the bike after the three-week break. We need to work to get the bike to my style and take a step forward. Tomorrow the objective will be to try to get into Q2.”
