Alonso and Holgado have completed more than 300 laps at the Jerez – Ángel Nieto circuit in the last two days of testing before travelling to Thailand
CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider David Alonso has ended the preseason on a very positive note. The Colombian has completed two intense days of work at the Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto, where numerous riders have lapped below the official track record. Among them was the CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider, who yesterday achieved the second-fastest time of the day. Alonso had the opportunity to put into practice all the work done during the winter to arrive at the opening round in Thailand in the best possible shape. After completing nearly 160 laps of the Andalusian circuit, his 1:39.180 put him in eighth position, three tenths off the fastest rider. Spaniard Alex Escrig was the benchmark in the intermediate category, followed by Celestino Vietti and Alonso López.
Dani Holgado has focused his work plan with the team on testing different settings to be as prepared as possible for the first round of the season. The Spanish rider completed a total of 154 laps over the two days and, although his best time only allowed him to finish in fifteenth place, the difference with the leader was only seven tenths. The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider achieved his best time yesterday, when he equaled the official record for the Andalusian circuit, 1:39.564, and highlighted the great pace he maintained throughout the two days. Holgado ends the preseason with clear objectives for his second season in Moto2. The competition will begin next week at the Chang International Circuit in Thailand.
8º David Alonso (+0.365, 156 laps): “I have a good feeling after the great work these past few days. We were able to do everything we had planned, and personally, I feel more relaxed when working. I'm not in a rush, and that translates onto the track. I've changed my riding style a bit to try to be more consistent. It's been a very good test to start the year. There are still things to work on when the season starts, but we'll approach the races with more confidence.”
15º Dani Holgado (+0.749, 154 laps): “The test went quite well and I'm very pleased with it. We tried many things to eliminate what wasn't working for us and to be able to implement others during the season. We missed being faster over a single lap and more explosive to make better use of the new tyre. That's normal after the winter break, so we'll gradually refine this aspect. I felt comfortable with the pace, we checked many things, and we're going to Thailand with a clear idea of what to expect.”
