The CFMOTO Inde Aspar rider returns to the track where he achieved his maiden Moto2 victory and will seek to get again on the podium this season
The Dutch GP is a date marked in red on the calendar for CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider Jake Dixon. The British achieved his maiden Moto2 victory in Assen last season after a weekend in which he was really competitive from start to finish. This year, Dixon will fight to shine again on a track that brings him such good memories. Assen was, in his debut in 2019, the first track in which he managed to score points, and there was where in 2022 he began a streak of three consecutive podiums that helped him believe in himself to complete his best Moto2 season until that moment.
Although the results have not been as expected in the first races of the year, Dixon has shown that he has the pace to fight with the front group and that will be the goal this weekend. The British rider will seek to join in the fight for top positions the favourites, among whom is the World Championship leader, Sergio García, who is the only rider who has repeated victory this year; Joe Roberts, second in the World Championship and who won the last race in Italy; or the Japanese Ai Ogura, who has gone from lowest to highest and who in 2023 finished just behind Dixon in Assen.
CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider Izan Guevara travels to Assen with great enthusiasm and with the challenge of taking a further step forward in Moto2. The Spanish has made great progress in the first races of the year, little by little he has been improving his positions both in qualifying and in the races and in the last Italian GP he achieved his best result of the season by finishing eighth. This weekend, Guevara will aim to repeat one more race in the top 10 and will fight to be in the front positions consistently on a race week in which he will turn 20 years old.
Jake Dixon: “We come back to the track in a special place for me, where one year ago today I won my first Moto2 race. But this is not the time to look back: we have to keep working hard, because we have shown we can do it, and this weekend we are going to try again.”
Izan Guevara: “I have been able to disconnect and train during this three-week break. I really want to compete in Assen, especially after the great result I achieved in Mugello. I want to continue improving and have a good weekend. The goal for this GP will be to fight in the leading group because I think we are able to do it.”
