Jake Dixon starts his home GP with confidence

The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider has finished seventh and is in provisional Q2 positions

Aron Canet has started the British GP at the top of the timesheets. The Spanish rider has been fastest in the morning session with a time of 2:04.021. In the afternoon, Canet has been able to improve his time and close a lap in 2:03.602. With this time, he sets a new track record, after beating by three tenths the previous one, held by Marco Bezzechi since 2021. Canet has dominated the first day and has ended more than two tenths ahead of second-placed Celestino Vietti, and more than four ahead of third, Tony Arbolino. Among the riders fighting for the Moto2 World Championship, the fastest on the first day in Silverstone has been Ai Ogura, who has finished fourth, while leader Sergio García has only managed to be eighth.

CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider Jake Dixon is competing this weekend in his home GP. The British has finished seventh, half a second off the best time. The first day in Silverstone has not been easy for Dixon, who is not 100% physically fit due to illness. This has not prevented him from finishing the day in provisional Q2 positions. Tomorrow, he hopes to feel better and fight for a good starting position that would allow him to battle in the front group in Sunday's race. His teammate Izan Guevara has finished in twenty-eighth position. The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider has not felt comfortable in Silverstone and has struggled to get a good time. Guevara knows he has work ahead of him to improve and achieve his goal of getting into Q2.

7th Jake Dixon 2:04.108 (+0.506): “Overall, it has been a positive day. I am not at 100% and, although I feel better today than yesterday, I still can’t do many laps in a row without feeling tired. I will rest tonight and come back stronger tomorrow.”

28th Izan Guevara 2:05.909 (+2.307): “It has been a difficult day, I have suffered a lot. We have to work on finding a good base. Tomorrow we will try to take a step forward and be more competitive. We have another chance to get into Q2 and we will give our all to get there.”
