The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider secured his second consecutive podium finish by coming third at Misano, while his teammate David Alonso finished eighth
Dani Holgado achieved his second consecutive podium finish, his third in just four races. The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider started from pole position at Misano and battled with experienced riders such as Celestino Vietti, who won the San Marino Grand Prix with a seven-tenths advantage over Barry Baltus, who finished second. The leader of the intermediate category, Manu González, was sixth, followed by his main rival, Aron Canet. David Alonso, meanwhile, finished eighth in a race that saw great progress for the Colombian.
Dani Holgado started the Moto2 race from pole position for the second time in a row. The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider tried to make a good start, but fell to second place in the early stages. The rookie in the intermediate category focused on keeping up with the leader's high pace during the race, which was no easy task, but he managed to do so until the final laps. Holgado remained in second place but, with four laps to go, he was overtaken by another rival. The Spaniard decided to hold his position and secure his third podium in the intermediate category, a well-deserved third place in a difficult race. On the other hand, David Alonso went from strength to strength at the Misano World Circuit. The Colombian, who started the race from eleventh position, had some difficulty overtaking his rivals in the early laps. With steady progress, the CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider climbed up the field to cross the finish line in eighth position and add another top 10 finish in a race full of learning.
3rd Dani Holgado (+3.911): “It feels great to be on the podium again. It was a race in which I gave it my all. I tried to follow Celestino Vietti until the end, even though I knew he had a faster pace than me. I was a little uncomfortable because I was going faster than I should have, but I was able to keep up for about ten laps. Then Barry Baltus came along and was on a higher level in the final laps. I'm very happy with the result because I was able to manage moments of tension and pressure during the race. This weekend was much more difficult than Barcelona, when you have more pace it's easier. When you don't have the speed and you have to look for it, it's always harder, but I managed to find it and I didn't expect that. It was a very fast race and I learned a lot. I'm taking away a great experience, which is what satisfies me the most.”
8th David Alonso (+10.446): “I had to start the race a little behind and it was difficult to overtake. I struggled to get to the overtaking points close to the rider in front and I held them up a bit, so I spent a lot of laps riding behind other riders. It was a bit difficult, but in the end I was able to catch up and gain more experience for the next races.”
