CATALAN GP

First day of learning for the CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team in Barcelona

Izan Guevara has finished fourteenth and Jake Dixon has been seventeenth

The first day of practice for the Catalan Grand Prix has demonstrated the great equality of Moto2, as just two tenths separate the top six riders. Among them there have been big surprises: the fastest rider has been Jorge Navarro, who is racing this weekend as a wildcard, and has set a time of 1:42.807. One of the favourites of this season, the American Joe Roberts, has finished second, but in third position there’s another rider who does not regularly race in the category. Dani Muñoz, substitute for the injured Bo Bendsneyder, closes the top 3 The great results of Navarro and Muñoz are due, in large part, to the fact that last weekend they competed in the European Moto2 Championship on this same track. Manu González, Fermín Aldeguer and Aron Canet have completed the top 6. The World Championship leader, Sergio García, could only be eighth, more than four tenths off the lead.

CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider Izan Guevara has started with good feelings at the Circuit de Barcelona – Catalunya. The Spanish has finished in fourteenth position, seven tenths off the best time, and is provisionally classified for Q2, which is one of his objectives for this weekend. Jake Dixon has started the first day of practice very strong and has achieved the third best time in the morning session, just one tenth off the reference set by González. However, in the afternoon, the CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team rider has focused on working on race pace and has ended in seventeenth position. The British will have to take a step forward for tomorrow's qualifying to be able to repeat the pole position he achieved last year.

14th Izan Guevara 1:43.567 (+0.760): “It has been a positive first day. We are working, but I have been a little limited by the lack of grip. At the moment we are in Q2 and tomorrow we will have a new opportunity to progress. We still have room for improvement.”

17th Jake Dixon 1:43.664 (+0.857): “The first session went well, but in the afternoon, I have struggled a bit. We have done a long run and in the last start I have had some problems that we need to understand.”
