Fifth row of the grid for the CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team

Izan Guevara and Jake Dixon have gone straight to Q2 at the Italian GP and will start from thirteenth and fifteenth position, respectively

Joe Roberts has been the fastest rider in qualifying for the Italian GP and tomorrow he will start from the first position on the grid. The American, who is second in the World Championship, will fight from pole position for his first victory of the season in Moto2 and he will try to close the gap with the leader, Sergio García, who will start from second. Roberts has set a time of 1:49.877 and has beaten García by only 78 thousandths. Alonso López has finished third, more than two tenths off Roberts. All this, in a qualifying session in which one of the favourites, Fermín Aldeguer, has not been able to participate due to neck pain. He will start the Moto2 race from eighteenth position.

CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team riders have qualified directly to Q2 in Mugello, and both will start from the fifth row of the grid. Izan Guevara has been thirteenth after finishing six tenths off the pole. The Spanish has achieved his best time in his first stint. Looking ahead to tomorrow's race, Guevara is confident of making a good start that will allow him to fight with the leading group. His teammate Jake Dixon has taken a big step forward today. In the last practice session, he has managed to improve yesterday's lap time by almost two seconds, which has allowed him to enter Q2 directly. In qualifying, Dixon has finished fifteenth, although he is not entirely satisfied with the result because he has not been able to complete a clean lap in his last stint.

12+1 Izan Guevara 1:50.576 (+0.699): “We have got straight to Q2. In qualifying we expected a little more, but I could not improve my time with the second set of tyres and we will start from thirteenth position. Tomorrow, the goal will be to make a good start because, from the grid to the first corner you can overtake several riders.”

15th Jake Dixon 1:50.796 (+0.919): “Today has gone better than yesterday, we have improved ten positions. I feel more comfortable with the bike, although qualifying has been a bit strange. I have needed a reference to understand where I could improve. I have had a lot of vibrations with the first set of tyres, but I have got my best lap with them. In the second run, I have not been able to complete a clean lap and I think I could have improved two tenths. Tomorrow we will fight to have a good race and take a step forward.”
