The CFMOTO Polarcube Aspar Team rider will start from second position and will fight to get his second podium of the season
CFMOTO Polarcube Aspar Team rider Jake Dixon continues smiling in the German GP and will start from second position tomorrow. The British has achieved his best qualifying so far this season and will start from the front row for the second time this year. Dixon has been very strong since the start of the grand prix and has made it straight to Q2. In qualifying, the CFMOTO Polarcube Aspar Team rider has ended only 47 thousandths off the pole position achieved by Celestino Vietti. Dixon is satisfied with the work done, but is aware that one of his strengths is his race pace, so he hopes to be more competitive tomorrow and fight for victory. The race will be very contested, since Moto2 is really even: the first seventeen have finished within half a second in qualifying. Fermín Aldeguer will start tomorrow from third position, but the rest of the favourites will start from further back in the grid. Ai Ogura has been seventh; Joe Roberts, eleventh, and World Championship leader Sergio García twelfth after crashing.
CFMOTO Polarcube Aspar Team rider Izan Guevara will start tomorrow from thirteenth position. The Spanish has fulfilled his objective of entering straight into Q2 and in qualifying he has finished four tenths off Vietti's best time. Guevara feels there is room for improvement, since he has not felt comfortable on the German track, and tomorrow he will fight from the fifth row of the grid to recover positions and be able to fight in the front group.
2nd Jake Dixon 1:22.825 (+0.047): “I am really happy. My biggest fear this weekend was qualifying, because it is where I have suffered the most this year. I feel comfortable with the bike and I am pretty confident. I am stronger in the long run than in one lap and I cannot wait for tomorrow’s race.”
12+1 Izan Guevara 1:23.217 (+0.439): “I have suffered a little, I do not have a good feeling. In the last two weekends we have not found the best set-up. We are getting the most of what we have and today I have given my 120%. I am very happy because we have gone straight to Q2, but in qualifying we needed to improve a couple of tenths and we have not done it. Tomorrow I will try to set a good pace and recover positions.”
