CFMOTO Aspar Team riders close the test with good feelings, with Jake Dixon fastest after breaking the track record, and Izan Guevara in sixth place
CFMOTO Aspar Team riders Jake Dixon and Izan Guevara have closed the Jerez test with a smile after completing a very positive day of testing. The two have taken advantage of this day, with three sessions of more than an hour each, to continue working on the set-up of their bikes. With short runs, which allowed small modifications to be made to the Kalex, between them they have added a total of 143 laps to the Jerez – Ángel Nieto circuit. Only at the end of the day has Izan Guevara completed a race simulation, of twenty laps, with times between 1:41.5 and 1:42.2.
Jake Dixon has been the fastest Moto2 rider today, with a 1:40.394 in the last session of the day that has allowed him to set the track record. The British rider has got off the bike very happy after having tried several modifications on the bike throughout the three sessions and has explained that he has begun to feel like he did last year, in a season in which he achieved two victories and fought for third place in the World Championship. Teammate Izan Guevara has led the second session, just ahead of Dixon, and has closed the day in sixth position, four tenths off his teammate. Guevara has been always fast and leaves Jerez with a very good set-up with which he hopes to continue improving in France, after having scored his first points of the year last Sunday.
1st Jake Dixon 1:40.394 (65 laps): “I was really looking forward to this test because during the weekends there is usually not a lot of time to try new things. We've tried a lot of things, I wouldn't even know where to start, but right now I feel very, very good. The team, Kalex and WP have done a very good job and together we have found a very positive direction. I have been able to be very fast and I have started to feel like I felt last year. I am very happy, it is incredible.”
6th Izan Guevara 1:40.794 (+0.400, 78 laps): “It has been a fairly positive test, we have been quite fast. We have tried many things on the bike, and we have a very good set-up. We leave Jerez happy, we have finished in sixth position, but we have to continue progressing.”
