CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team returns to work with renewed energy

Dani Holgado and David Alonso come back to competition this weekend in Austria

The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team goes on track again after a three-week break as Dani Holgado and David Alonso travel to Austria for the thirteenth round of the season. The young Moto2 rookies made great strides in the first half of the year, with Holgado fighting for the podium on several occasions (he was fourth in Qatar and Czechia), while David Alonso made it to the podium at the UK Grand Prix. The Spanish rider lands at the Red Bull Ring as the best rookie in the intermediate class and occupies thirteenth position in the standings with 60 points. He is closely followed by his teammate David Alonso, sixteenth with 43 points. At the last Austrian Grand Prix the CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team duo finished on the podium in the Moto3 class, with Alonso winning the race and Holgado in third place. Both riders have worked during these weeks to continue applying everything they have learnt from the first races in this new phase of the season and continue to grow in the coming events.

Ahead of them, Manu González has not relinquished the Moto2 lead since his victory at the Spanish Grand Prix at the end of April. The Spanish rider has a 25-point lead over second-placed Aron Canet. The latter suffered a crash at the start of the last race in Brno, and he was unable to score points, something Barry Baltus did, as he was second in Czechia, what allowed him to climb to third in the standings. Brazilian Diogo Moreira is fourth, while Jake Dixon completes the top 5 of the intermediate category.  Of them, only Jake Dixon, twice, and Aron Canet, once, have jumped on the podium at the Red Bull Ring.

Dani Holgado: “We arrive in Austria eager to get started after the summer break. During these weeks, I have been able to rest and recharge our batteries for the second half of the season and work on some aspects of my riding that I need to improve on the Moto2 bike. Now it's time to enjoy ourselves and continue learning as much as possible from the fastest riders to have a great weekend and fight for the top positions.”

David Alonso: “We're starting the second half of the season after three weeks in which we were able to thoroughly analyse the first half of the year. We've been able to see where we have the most room for improvement, our weakest areas, to work on them over the summer. We're arriving in Austria more complete and with the goal of not seeking results but rather consistent work and intensity from the start of the weekend and in qualifying. With this, the results will surely come.”
