Aron Canet, who arrived in Austin as leader and who took pole yesterday, also has had problems in the first corner and could only finish ninth.
CFMOTO Asterius Aspar Team rider Jake Dixon has made a great start and has moved up from fourteenth to fourth on the first lap. The Briton was contesting his first race of the season at the Circuit of the Americas after his injury in Qatar and the feeling has been positive in the opening laps. However, when he was fighting with the front group he has crashed. Fortunately, he has been able to get back on the bike and ride at a similar pace to the podium riders. Dixon has finished the race in twenty-third position. His teammate, Izan Guevara, has crossed the finish line in twentieth place. The Spaniard has not had an easy weekend at the Circuit of the Americas and in the race he has struggled with tyre management.
20th Izan Guevara (+26.351): "It has been a very difficult weekend. The start of the race has been good and the pace was good, but then I have lost a lot of grip. I have managed to get used to riding like this and I have been able to recover some pace at the end."
23rd Jake Dixon (+43.821): "I have had a really good start, from fourteenth to fourth, but unfortunately I have crashed. I have been in the front group and the pace has been good, I have had a good feeling. It is a bit frustrating because I had the pace to be on the podium."
