CFMOTO Aspar Team arrives in Jerez with a clear objective

Jake Dixon and Izan Guevara will fight for their first points of the season

Moto2 arrives with a new leader at the Spanish Grand Prix. Sergio García, who took his first ever victory in the intermediate category at the Circuit of the Americas, is the new leader with just two points over American Joe Roberts. At the start of the season, Moto2 has once again made it clear that it is a very tight category: no one has repeated victory and after every race there has been a new championship leader. Aron Canet and Alonso López, who were the first leaders of the year and are now tied on points, will be looking to make up places in the overall standings at Jerez. Other important names in the category such as Fermín Aldeguer and Manu González, who already know what it is to be on the podium this season, will also have to be taken into account.

The CFMOTO Aspar Team will aim to score its first points of the season. Jake Dixon returned to competition after his injury at the last Grand Prix in Austin and his sensations were very positive. The British rider had the pace to fight with the leading group, but a crash destroyed his chances. Now, Dixon will be looking to leave behind the difficult start of the year and fight for a good result in Jerez. On the other side of the garage, Izan Guevara hopes to take a step forward this race week at the Jerez - Ángel Nieto circuit. The CFMOTO Aspar Team rider has set himself the challenge of starting to fight with the front group and hopes that this race in Jerez will mark a turning point.

Izan Guevara: "The Jerez weekend is always special. The objective is to take a step forward, to fight to be with the group and to recover the good feelings I had at the beginning of the season."

Jake Dixon: "We travel to Jerez after having been able to complete the first race of the season and we are looking forward to more. In Austin we got a good set-up for the race, from the first moment I was able to fight with the leading group and only a crash impeded us from fighting for the podium. This weekend we have to continue in the same line, giving everything to get back to where we deserve to be."
