Alonso and Holgado look to Le Mans to continue growing

The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team riders move on after an unexpected end to the Spanish Grand Prix and focus on the next objective in France

The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team has already set its sights on the next round at the legendary Le Mans circuit, after David Alonso and Dani Holgado crashed out in different actions during the Spanish Grand Prix race. The Moto2 rookies completed some very positive practice sessions at the Circuito de Jerez - Ángel Nieto and arrived to the race with a good feeling and ready to offer their best version. However, Dani Holgado crashed out almost at the start, while David Alonso did the same after the first few laps and was unable to finish the race in front of an enthusiastic crowd, which saw Manu González take his second win of the season and regain the lead in the standings, with Barry Baltus and Senna Agius joining him on the podium. The Spanish rider has now finished on the podium in four of the five races held, and in Jerez was able to extend his lead over second-placed Aron Canet.

After a few days of rest, Alonso and Holgado are physically ready and are already preparing for the sixth race of the season. Both riders know what it is like to stand on the podium at Le Mans, after Alonso was the winner in his last race in Moto3, while Dani Holgado was also second in that same race. The Spanish rider remains the best rookie in the category and both he and his teammate want to learn from their mistakes to continue improving in the intermediate category and regain the positive line they both had shown.

Dani Holgado: “I'm coming to France really looking forward to racing, like every weekend so far. After the crash in Jerez, we must learn to be able to keep moving forward and improving. It's the first mistake I've made this season; I hadn't crashed yet. The goal this weekend will be to once again continue enjoying and learning in this new category, as we have done so far. I've always liked the Le Mans circuit, I've always been good at it, and when you come to a track like this, which brings back good memories, it gives you extra motivation that you must use to try to get a good result and bring joy to both the team and yourself.”

David Alonso: “We're going to France to continue the same line of work we've been doing so far, to put together solid weekends where we can polish the mistakes we've made in other races. I'm getting a better understanding of how to ride this bike, but I have to work on myself, on my patience, to avoid rushing things like I did in Jerez. We're coming to a track that's known for its fans and where I have very fond memories in Moto3, but with the Moto2 it's like a new track.”
