The team, current Moto3 Junior World Champion, will continue with Dani Holgado, incorporates the British Scott Ogden and upgrades the European Talent Cup Champion David Alonso
Aspar Team Junior will once again fight for the Moto3 Junior World Championship with a line-up that includes Dani Holgado, Scott Ogden and David Alonso. The first two will fight to follow Aspar Team rider Izan Guevara in the competition's list of winners, while for David Alonso it is his debut in the category, to which he arrives as the European Talent Cup Champion.
Ogden (Doncaster, 2003) faces his second full season in the Moto3 Junior World Championship and joins the team that won the title in 2020. Ogden aspires to constantly fight for the front positions. Champion of the British Talent Cup in 2018, he was fifteenth in this past Moto3 Junior World Championship season after entering the top 10 in Portimao, Jerez and Valencia.
Holgado (Alicante, 2005) begins his second season as an Aspar Team Junior rider in 2021, after having made his debut with the team in 2020 with a fifth position in the Moto3 Junior World Championship. The Spanish rider got pole position in the Aragon event, two podiums and nine performances among the top five in the category. His objective in this new year will be to fight for victory to attempt the assault on the title.
Alonso (Madrid, 2006) makes his debut in the Moto3 Junior World Championship as the current European Talent Cup champion. This is the second title won by the young rider with the Aspar Team Junior, after the 85GP Spanish Championship he achieved in 2018. Alonso finished the year with five victories and a total of ten podiums in eleven races, which give him the thrust necessary to face this new challenge.
Jorge Martínez “Aspar”: “In the Aspar Team we take care of the young riders to continue training future champions. In 2020 we have achieved the two titles we were fighting for in the FIM CEV and the goal in 2021 will be the same. To achieve this, in the Moto3 Junior World Championship we will have Dani Holgado, Scott Ogden and David Alonso. For Holgado it is his second season with us and the goal will be to win. Ogden is a promising rider who comes from winning the British Talent Cup in 2018 and who already has experience in the category, while Alonso will be the youngest of the team, but he arrives as the European Talent Cup Champion. We hope to give them all the tools and knowledge they need to continue to grow and shine with us in this upcoming season.”
Scott Ogden: “I want to thank all the people who have supported me in achieving this opportunity with Aspar Team Junior. It is a great team, which has won all the junior categories in which it competed and has also won the Moto3 World Championship. It is incredible, a dream that comes true. My main objective this year will be to fight for the top 6 constantly. It's my second season in the Moto3 Junior World Championship and I want to make a strong impression. The other riders in the team are very fast and I hope to learn a lot from them to keep improving, both on and off the track.”
Dani Holgado: “I am very excited about this opportunity, another great year with my team. I have more experience and I have matured as a rider. I am waiting for the season to start and I know we can do great, like we did in 2020. Our main objective will be to win, for that we are working hard, non-stop, to give our best, which is what we do best. I am looking forward to starting the season.”
David Alonso: “I am very excited to be able to race in the Moto3 Junior World Championship and to do it with the team with which I have been European Talent Cup champion. It will be a year full of challenges, it will surely be tough, but also very funny. I really want to see how the new bike works and to do my best, without pressure. Now it's time to work with our eyes on 2021.”
